View One: H1N1 vaccine is “an experimental vaccine”

Trials for the experimental H1N1 swine flu vaccine started on Sept.15 in Thornton, Colo. Novartis, who manufactures the vaccine, is recommending that children participating in trials receive two doses of this experimental vaccine. Everyone should have a sense of concern as the only safety checks for these children are a few blood draws and follow up phone calls - no neurological testing.
Official opinion from federal agencies, such as CDC, insist that the new vaccine will be safe and effective.
SqualeneMF59 is an adjuvant* and appears as a thick oily base, and is used in influenza vaccine licensed for adult or the elderly in many countries worldwide, but is not contained in any vaccines currently approved in the United States; and now the vaccine is designed for children for ages 3 to 8. And now, they plan on shooting up newborns and pregnant women with this stuff? Buyer beware.
According to Dr.Sherri Tenpenny, D.O (www.newswithviews.com), squalene seems like a food choice for an adjuvant. Manufactured naturally in the liver, squaleneis is a precursor for cholesterol. In addition, squalene can be bought at health food stores in its more commonly form known as shark liver oil.
However, ingested squalene has a completely different effect on the body than injected squalene. When molecules of squalene enter the body through an injection, even at concentration as small as 10 to 20 parts per billion, it can lead to self-destruction immune responses, such as auto-immune arthritis and lupus, heart attacks, and swelling of the brain. These were noted when squalene was associated with the anthrax vaccine. Thimerosal is related to an increase in autism and Alzheimer's.
There is talk about making the H1N1 flu vaccine mandatory by the end of October. Two months after the mandatory swine flu vaccination of 1976, there were thousands of people who died from Guillain Barre's syndrome, a paralyzing nerve disease that can be caused by the vaccine. Personally, I know a lady who was paralyzed for the three days after she received the flu vaccine.
Around April 1976, due to nationwide protest against the swine flu vaccine, the government stopped the mandatory vaccination abruptly and a pandemic of flu never materialized.
There were 70 percent of Registered Nurses who refused the H1N1 flu vaccine in New York. The German army refused the H1N1 flu vaccine. According to our Constitution, we have a right to decide what's going to be injected in our bodies. Out of concern of protecting the health and lives of all, please weigh the pros and cons, then make an intelligent decision regarding the flu vaccination.

View Two: No link between flu vaccines and autism

The practice of medicine is profession where the benefits of any and all therapy must be balanced against the known risks. When the scale favors the benefits, the therapy is felt to be appropriate practice and is recommended. These recommendations are based on solid scientific facts. Not hearsay, suspicion or opinion.
There are few practices in medicine that are better researched and supported by cold, hard facts than influenza vaccination.
Influenza vaccination is effective, safe and is recommended (and in fact may be mandated) for use by every professional organization with recognized expertise in the areas of public health and infectious disease on the planet. (The World Health Organization, National Institutes of Health, Centers for Disease Control, Infectious Disease Society of America and the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology in America).
Over $1 billion have been spent looking for any possible link between childhood immunizations and autism. None has been found. For the last 10 years, no childhood immunizations have contained Thimerasol and yet, diagnoses of autism have actually increased. After extensive research, no credible association has ever been demonstrated between Guillain-Barre syndrome and influenza vaccination.
The “swine flu” vaccination in 1976 was prepared using live influenza viruses. Current influenza vaccines use an entirely different method of preparing the vaccine.
Nationwide, around 45 percent of registered nurses receive influenza vaccinations voluntarily. This means that the unvaccinated other 55 percent of our nurses place their patients and their families at risk every day during the flu season because unvaccinated people spread influenza to others in close proximity for 24 hours before any symptoms develop.
No caring about getting ill yourself is your own business, not caring whether you make someone else sick is irresponsible. The only intelligent decision, one that weighs the benefits of flu vaccination against the consequences of not getting one, to make about the influenza vaccine is where to get one, not whether to get one.
Editor's note: 'Adjuvant' is an agent added to a drug to increase its effect. The Editor defers to the judgement of immunologists in this case.
