Redwood Capital Bancorp appoints a new board member

On Tuesday, June 23, Redwood Capital Bancorp (RWCB.OB) announced the appointment of James R. Seiler to the Board of Directors of Redwood Capital Bancorp and Redwood Capital Bank, respectively.

”On behalf of the Redwood Capital Bancorp Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce the appointment of James R. Seiler as our newest member of the Board. We believe his insight and professional experiences will assist us in leading the company now and well into the future,” stated Dr. John E. Burke, Chairman of the Board.

”Mr. Seiler and his wife, Nadine, have a long, successful history conducting business on the North Coast as well as serving our local communities.”

Seiler graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in 1963 with a degree in Dairy Manufacturing preparing him for 9 years of employment with Foremost Foods in various assignments. In 1972, he began managing a small Shell Oil wholesale business in Fortuna, California and became vice-president and general manager in 1974. This company became Humboldt Petroleum, Inc. which owned and operated retail gasoline/convenience stores throughout Humboldt and Del Norte Counties.

The company was sold in 2005. Seiler continues his involvement in the petroleum industry as a partner in TBS Petroleum, LLC and as a committee member in the California Independent Oil Marketers Association. Seiler is a member of the Fortuna Rotary Club, Fortuna Chamber of Commerce and Redwood Empire Golf and Country Club. He resides in Fortuna with his wife of 46 years, Nadine. They have two children.

Seiler will be joining the existing Board of Directors including John E. Burke, Chairman of the Board, John Gierek Jr., Vice-Chairman of the Board, Russ Britt, Larry DeBeni, Bill McAuley, Craig Perrone, Jack Selvage, Steve Strombeck, and John Dalby who have served on the Board of Directors since inception of the bank.

According to John Dalby, President and CEO, “Mr. Seiler brings both leadership and business experience to the Board and will represent the City of Fortuna while serving on the Board of Directors. We are pleased that Mr. Seiler has agreed to serve and represent his community in this capacity.”
