LOS ANGELES (AP) — Federal authorities have filed a lawsuit against a Los Angeles seafood processing company claiming it disturbed food prepared under conditions that could lead to bacteria contamination.
The Los Angeles Times reports (http://lat.ms/2y3tA0j ) that the lawsuit against Michel Cordon Bleu Inc. was filed in federal court on Tuesday on behalf of the Food and Drug Administration. The complaint claims the company did not maintain the necessary efforts to reduce the risk of microorganism growth and contamination.
A company official says the owner has not been able to keep up with new requirements but is in the process of selling the company to a firm that will ensure it is compliant.
The lawsuit seeks an injunction requiring the company to bring its procedures up to federal safety standards.
